Knowing and applying the latest laws, state policies, and regulations to verify the counts and veracity of your signatures.

CA&T’s principals have more than four decades of experience in successfully guiding hundreds of petitions to the ballot in nearly every state. Our expertise can be called upon for every facet of your campaign from designing the petition format to preparing your signatures for submission.

What CA&T does for those wanting to get an issue or candidate on the ballot.

VoteQuest is an online communications and tracking system giving proponents real-time details on field operations. You can monitor individually or by region, who is collecting, how fast, how often, and how many of those signatures turn out to be good signatures.  VoteQuest manages signature counts and updates the management team in real time where each signature is on its march to submission. Campaign signature counts are immediately updated at each of the stages in auditing signature collection:

        • Signatures are entered online into a batch by circulator and numbers collected.
        • Batches of signatures are paid using VoteQuest.
        • Signature are shipped to Campaign Audit & Trust for processing.
        • Pages & Signatures are received and counted .
        • Notaries are verified with the state for bonded compliance (where applicable).
        • Notarized petitions are viewed for accuracy and completeness.
        • Signatures are viewed for completeness and authenticity.
        • Signers are checked for voter registration status.
        • VoteQuest instantly adjusts overall counts for miscounts, purges, and subpar validation.
        • Chargebacks are issued to collectors for substandard work.
        • Petitions are sorted (where applicable) by region of submission.
        • Petitions are paginated (where applicable).
        • Petitions are bound (where applicable).
    • If your campaign has geographical distribution requirements, VoteQuest tracks collection by area and by circulator. This system supplies campaigns with the information to more efficiently utilize and mobilize manpower on the field at the same time ensuring you get what you pay for.

Handling the payments and holding signature collectors accountable.

VoteQuest has a function that calculates and manages signature payments to Field Operatives. Once a batch of signatures is submitted for payment in the field, CA&T makes sure that those signatures are shipped, received for processing and ultimately how many are valid signatures from the right place. If signatures are substandard they are removed from the count, and charge-backs are issued to the collector. Those chargebacks will offset the next payment to that collector. In this way the signatures and money are audited to ensure that the terms of your contract are met.

Cleaning up the dirty work.

CA & T’s vast experience in the petition industry allows for quick identifying and weeding out those signatures that can disqualify a petition. Some of the common pitfalls are:

        • Unregistered voters signing petitions.
        • Duplicate signers.
        • Bad notaries.
        • Forgeries.
        • Incomplete affidavits.
        • Illegible information.

We have experience to quickly identify them all and have worked with State Election Officials long enough to know what they will and will not accept. But CA&T goes beyond quick recognition. CA&T also helps stop bad work from continuing in the field by giving the field feedback on every level allowing for improved quality of signatures collected, turned in, and paid for.

Saving Proponents Money and providing peace of mind.

Signature management firms strive to do a good job. Part of their focus is on gathering good signatures fast. Maintaining circulators to do this requires large influxes of cash before signatures are even reviewed and counted. This puts proponents in a difficult situation of trusting management firms with large amounts of money up front. Bringing Campaign Audit & Trust on board does three things:

Eliminates the price that the management firm will require to process, validate, and physically manage its own signatures while at the same time giving them complete access to all the reports and information it needs to manage its main goal, getting signatures.

      1. By paying CA&T that portion normally paid to the petition firm for processing services, You will not spend any more money on the campaign and instead receive an independent audit on the work being done which brings peace of mind.
      2. On Campaigns with geographical distribution requirements, CA&T is able to track in real time where signatures need to be gathered in mid collection stream.
      3. Using CA&T’s proven system on average saves a campaign from having to purchase between 10 and 20 percent more signatures.
Saving Management firms money and providing peace of mind.
